Description

The history of boxing gloves stretches back to ancient Greece, where fighters wrapped their hands in leather strips known as himantes. While these early versions provided minimal support, they were far from the padded gloves we know today. It wasn’t until the 18th century that Jack Broughton, often called the “Father of Boxing Rules,” introduced padded gloves to make boxing less brutal. From there, gloves evolved into the modern designs we see today, with advanced padding, stronger stitching, and standardized regulations for different competitions.
